Are you an experienced mechanic with leadership ambitions or a Head of Technical Services ready for a new challenge? Our industrial laundry at Schiphol Airport is looking for a technical expert who will ensure that our installations are always in top condition and who enjoys working with their team to further professionalize our Technical Services department.
Our colleague will be leaving us soon. That is why we are looking for reinforcement for our Technical Department. In this position, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for the maintenance, malfunctions, and technical continuity of our laundry location in the Netherlands, either immediately or in the long term.
You will work closely with our mechanics, production, and suppliers. Depending on your experience, you will start as a first mechanic with the opportunity to advance to Head of Technical Services or directly as Head of Technical Services.
What will you be doing?
- Planning and (overseeing) preventive and corrective maintenance on our machines and transport installations.
- Analyzing and resolving malfunctions, and structurally improving the reliability of the machinery.
- Drawing up, managing, and implementing the maintenance plan and budget.
- The daily management, coaching, and development of the Technical Services team (mechanics and external personnel).
- Contact with suppliers and specialists for maintenance, parts, and improvement projects.
- Monitoring safety, quality, and compliance with technical inspections and certifications (including Certex).
- Initiating and supervising technical improvements and investment projects in collaboration with Operations.
What do we expect from you?
You have a strong technical foundation and know how to get things done. Whether you already have experience as a Head of Technical Services or have the ambition to take that step, you want to contribute to a reliable and future-oriented technical organization.
- A completed technical education at MBO 4 or HBO level (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechatronics).
- Several years of experience in maintenance or breakdown service within an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of mechanics, electrical engineering, and PLCs; experience in textile cleaning or the process industry is a plus.
- Skilled in maintenance management, project-based work, and familiar with LEAN principles.
- An analytical and results-oriented attitude; you work in a structured manner and think in terms of solutions.
- A coaching and communicative team player who likes to take responsibility and wants to develop further towards (or within) a managerial role.
